Pran (full name Parakul Siridechawat) is one of the main characters of Bad Buddy, the president of the Architecture faculty at South Tech University, and Pat's love interest. He is portrayed by Nanon Korapat.

His name in Pat's phone—and later the way he signs his letters and postcards to Pat—is ครับเพื่อน (khap puen), which means "yes friend," and more notably is the second half of the show's title in Thai, to pair with Pat's name in his phone being the first half of the show's title in Thai, แค่เพื่อน (kha puen).

He lives in Apartment 439 in Tinidee.

Appearance

Pran has black hair, dark brown eyes, and dimples when he smiles. Pat in particular likes to make note of his dimples, and describes Pran as cute due to them. Pran is 6'0", but he often slouches. His wardrobe is very simple, often consisting of sweaters and baggy t-shirts when he has no academic obligations. He has a red Architecture uniform like other Architecture students, but often opts to wear a white long-sleeved shirt buttoned up to the top. He wears baggy jeans, khakis, and baggy shorts most of the time, as well as white tennis shoes and occasionally sandals or flip-flops.

Pran typically has straight bangs with a slight sweep, from childhood to university. After he graduates, he wears his hair middle-parted.

He always wears a watch, even while he and Pat make love. It is revealed early on in the show that the watch was from his childhood and had stopped working when he rescued Pa and after Pat had returned it to him, but he had kept it in his bedroom and in Episode 1, after running into Pat again, he fixes it easily and wears it from then on.

He is noted to have a fondness for smiley faces, as his dorm room is decorated in many things with smiley faces, some of which he drew himself. His childhood bedroom also has a few prints of smiley faces on his wall.

Less notable is his affinity for striped patterns, as seen in many of his shirts in his wardrobe (see gallery below), and also his bed sheets.

He often carries around a plastic navy blue hobo bag that has the letter P on the front, in white.

Scent

Pat is especially obsessed with Pran's scent, remarking in several episodes how good Pran smells. P'Aof later posted on Twitter that the cologne Pran uses is Kiehl's Original Musk, a unisex cologne described as "[a] musky extract derived from a miniature antler-less deer which originates deep in the Himalayan mountains... It features top notes of orange blossom and bergamot; middle notes of lily, neroli, ylang-ylang and rose; and base notes of tonka bean, musk and patchouli."

Personality, Hobbies, & Talents

Pran is quiet, hesitant, and artistic with an eye for detail, shown to have a fondness for drawing, design, and music. Despite appearing reserved compared to Pat, however, Pran has many friends, as he stated that his friends voted for him to be president of the Architecture faculty, and has friendly banter with a handful of girls during the Architecture play. He has no reservations on scolding his friends for getting into trouble, but usually tries to lend an ear to them when they're complaining, or at least is kind enough to pretend to. Pran is usually nice and polite to his peers and clubmates, unless they disrespect him first, like Chart.

With Pat, Pran is much less filtered and harsher, as observed by Pat twice in Episode 3, when they run into each other at the noodle shop and during the bus stop scene; and more notably called out in Episode 4, where Pran speaks formally and kindly to Pat when he bumps into him, before realizing who it is and abruptly changing tone. Pran likes to point out Pat's flaws, such as when Pat eats too loudly or hovers over his shoulder or is too touchy-feely with him when their relationship is at risk of getting caught. Later in Episode 11, Pat admits that he likes how picky Pran is. Pat also tends to bring out Pran's competitive side, usually causing Pran to be more confident, arrogant, and stubborn. This was especially evident in their childhood, when neither of them seemed any more mature than the other, and would be prone to physical fights and taunting.

Pran can play guitar and enjoys songwriting and performing, although the only songs he has ever performed were about Pat: Just Friend? and Our Song. He sang Secret, also about Pat,in the Our Skyy 2 episodes as well and canonically wrote the song in-universe. Regardless, he still wishes to be a musician as well as an interior designer after graduation, the latter which he does successfully.

Pran's artistry is evident in his fondness for doodling and drawing, singing, guitar-playing, and song writing, as well as architecture and design. In Episode 1 when he and Wai pass the Freshy Day poster, Pran pretends not to know what Wai is talking about by offering his graphic design opinion. In the original Bad Buddy trailer, Pat offers to help him with his physics homework in exchange for Pran helping him with his English homework. Regardless, it seems Pran is sufficient at math, as he is the one who works out the budget for the bus stop.

Pran is also a confident and capable leader, shown as he was elected president of the Architecture faculty and is the only person Wai and Toto trust to take Wai's place as the main sound coordinator for the Architecture play. Wai and Pran's peers also trust Pran to be one of the casting directors for the play, and be responsible for sound direction and equipment during the play. Through all this, it is also presumed that Pran is capable of keeping his grades up, as he is often the ones scolding his friends for not focusing on their schoolwork, his design board usually has something in progress on it, and at multiple points we see him working on projects.

Although it appears that Pat and Pran's families are equally wealthy (based on their houses and wardrobe), it is implied multiple times throughout the show that Pran's family is no stranger to financial struggle of some sort. Pran had saved up, possibly from working in his parent's shop, to buy a guitar when he was 13 years old. He also pays his own rent for his dorm at university.

Nanon has described some of Pran's behavioral quirks as him having OCD, which is not unfounded as Pran is shown to have some obsessive compulsive behavior—notably, always looking out the peephole before he opens the door for or after someone leaves. He is picky about being clean, making his bed, and eating quietly; in Pat's words: "[You're picky] when it comes to eating, sleeping, even peeing." In the original Bad Buddy trailer, Pran is described to be the "perfectionist." Presumably like his mother, Pran is particular about having specific utensils for serving food during a meal. Pran's dorm has many sticky notes everywhere, though it is unknown what they are for. He also tends to forgets his earphones, even to the point of dropping them that he has to look for them which inadvertently causes them to break. Pat frequently reminds him if he has them.

Pran does not seem to have as much spacial awareness as Pat, as shown in Episode 3 when he misses the Eco Friendly poster in the elevator entirely.

He enjoys cooking, especially for the ones he loves. He used to help his mother cook when he was young, and is good at replicating her recipes.

Pran has a close relationship with both of his parents, being their only child. Even while he and Pat were hiding their friendship and relationship from their parents, he is still shown to care for them and talk to them regularly, His closeness with his parents, notably his mother, is one of the most significant factors that initially hindered him from pursuing any sort of relationship with Pat. He also listens to the same type of classical music that his father likes. His parents adore him and like to ask questions about his life, comfortably tease him, and are very affectionate towards him.

Pran's first note to Pat in Episode 2, reads: "Sorry :( I ate your salad. These drinks are my apologies."

On his computer, Pran's username is Pranrakul (a mashup of his nickname and his first name, Pran and Parakul). His password up to at least Episode 5 is "pransocool," which is a reference to the band So Cool. Sometime before Episode 10, he changes it to "praninlove." His username on LINE is por.parakul. He and Chang have the same red iPhone XR. Pran's has a navy blue phone case with a ):) smiley face on it. He also uses the same picture of himself for his computer icon, phone background, and portrait on his nightstand.

His handwriting is small and neat.

Relationships

Pat - His rival since he was born, his crush since he was at least 15, and his eventual boyfriend [under construction]

Wai - His best friend; it is implied that Pran and Wai met sometime while Pran was at boarding school. [under construction]

Ink - A classmate from high school who Pran and Pat run into at the beginning of Episode 4 (due to them being in different faculties). While not shown to be close, Ink did make him a matching friendship bracelet with the one that she had given Pat, and later uses gives it to him, saying that she meant to give it to him in high school but he had moved to his boarding school before she had the chance. Pran initially thinks that Ink and Pat like each other, and is visibly surprised when she tells him that she does not. She often teases Pat and Pran for seeming "lovey dovey" together both before they date, and afterward. She is one of the few on the secret that Pat and Pran are still dating after they tell their parents and friends that they had broken up.

Pa - Pa and Pran are shown to be friendly, as Pran visits the Jindapat's store for construction supplies and Pa happily puts an order in for him. Pa also thinks Pran is hot. Pran usually tries to tell Pat to not be as physically affectionate with him when Pa could possibly see, even when she knows they are already dating. She is one of the few in on the secret that Pat and Pran are still dating after they tell their parents and friends that they had broken up.

Louis and Safe - Pran's main group of friends, along with Wai. Not much is known about his relationship with them, although Pran did meet them later and after he was already friends with Wai. Wai, Safe, and Louis have a lot of fun affectionately teasing Pran for getting anonymous love notes, and the four are most often seen together as a unit, whether in Pran's dorm, the Freshy Day concert, or drinking. Louis and Safe are quick to drop Pran when it becomes public knowledge that Pran is dating Pat, but quickly get over it when their school wins the rugby game in Episode 9. Pran and Wai lie to them after Episode 11 about Pat and Pran's relationship status, as of all of their sophomore years of university, although it is unknown whether or not this is later amended.

Dissaya - Though Pran is evidently close to both of his parents, he is especially close to his mother, who he helped in the kitchen since he was young. Dissaya often dissuades Pran from interacting with Pat despite their rivalry, implying that perhaps she does not want Pat to do the same thing to her son as Ming did to her. Pran is seen thinking about his mother a lot during Episode 11 after their fight, even taking out his SIM card when he and Pat promised not to, because he didn't want her to be worried. When he talks to Junior's mother, he asks her about her feelings when Junior runs away from her, in order to learn how to empathize with his mother. Though she is technically not in the know about his and Pat's relationship by episode 12, he still tells her about his work updates and she retrieves his guitar without him asking her directly. It is implied that both she and Pran's father know about his relationship with Pat, despite it technically being a secret.

History

He was born the cutest boy in the world. His birthday is probably somewhere close to Pat's (which is April 24.)

In a flashback, his bed sheets have stars on them, and as a university student, he has an astronaut keychain, which may suggest Pran has an affinity for space. He also has a space model on one of his shelves.
